South Prairie Studio began back in 2015 as a way of showcasing the handmade creations of its founder Jacklyn Friesen. Located just east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, South Prairie Studio offered handmade products from its home and throughout the province. Since then, it has transitioned into a lifelong dream of photography.
Although South Prairie Studio did not start off in photography, it has always been the vision from the beginning. The name South Prairie Studio was chosen as a way of encompassing all that those dreams represent. From the home town in the prairies to the studio called home. These are where ideas are born.
Today South Prairie Studio is excited to officially move exclusively into photography. We hope its where inspirations and lifelong memories begin.
Thanks for being a part of our journey.
Jacklyn Friesen is a portrait photographer living in rural Manitoba. Her passion is photographing people and capturing the best in her clients. From individual portraits to couple engagements and even fine art equine photography.
Fine Art Equine Photography is a particular interest of Jacklyn’s. This came from a deep connection to horses when she received her first horse as a young girl. Even today, she continues with that passion of horses along with her daughter. Her talent in photography has given her the ability to capture that connection between her clients and their horse.
Jacklyn has travelled extensively with her husband throughout Canada and the United States. It’s a pastime that creates opportunities to inspire her photography by discovering new things and meeting new people. She’s not shy about going off the beaten path where lifelong stories and friendships begin.
